A web browser is a software application for retrieving, presenting and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web. Although browsers are primarily intended to use the World Wide Web, they can also be used to access information provided by web servers in private networks or files in file systems. Here is the list of top 10 best web browsers  : 

1   Google Chrome 
Google Chrome is a freeware web browser developed by Google that uses the WebKit layout engine as of its latest stable release. It was released as a beta version for Microsoft Windows on September 2, 2008, and as a stable public release on December 11, 2008. Google Chrome has a 39% worldwide usage share of share of web browsers making it the most widely used web browser in the world.

 Mozilla Firefox 
Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser developed for Windows, OS X and Linix, with a mobile version for Android, by Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary , the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox uses the Gecko layout engine to render web pages, which implements current and anticipated web standards.As of  October 2012, Firefox has approximately 20% to 24% of worldwide usage share of web browsers.According to Mozilla, Firefox counts over 450 million users around the world.

  Safari  
Safari is a web browser developed by Apple Inc. and included with the Mac OS X and iOS operating systems. First released as a public beta on January 7, 2003 on the company's OS X operating system, it became Apple's default browser begining with Mac OS X v10.3 "Panther".
According to Net Applications, Safari accounted for 62.17 percent of mobile web browsing traffic and 5.43 percent of desktop traffic in October 2011, giving a combined market share of 8.72 percent.

  Opera 
The Opera Browser is free, and it is the smallest and fastest browser in the world.Opera started out as a research project in Norways telecom company, telenor, in 1994. The Opera browser is known for its performance, standards compliance and small size. Opera has over 300 millions worldwide.

 Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer is a series of graphical web browsers developed by Microsoft and included as part of the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, starting in 1995. Internet Explorer is one of the most widely used web browsers, attaining a peak of about 95% usage share during 2002 and 2003.Estimates for Internet Explorer's overall market share range from 27.4% to 54.13%, as of October 2012. Microsoft spent over US$100 millionper year on Internet Explorer in the late 1990s, with over 1000 people working on it by 1999.

 Netscape Browser
Netscape Browser is the name of a proprietary Windows web browser published by AOL, but developed by Mercurial Communications.It is the eighth major release in name of Netscape series of browsers, originally produced by the defunct Netscape Communications Corporation.
While Netscape Browser's version numbers start at 8, it is based on Mozilla Firefox, whereas Netscape 6 and 7  were based on Mozilla Application Suite. The Netscape Browser series was succeeded by Netscape Naviatir 9.However, on December 28, 2007, Netscape developers announced that AOL would discontinue the web browser on February 1, 2008.

  Maxthon
Maxthon, originally known as MyIE2, is a freeware web browser for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X that is developed in China. It is also available on iOS and Android platforms as Maxthon Mobile. Since the release of version 3, Maxthon uniquely supports both the Trident and the Webkit rendering engines. Maxthon won CNET WebWare 100 Awards in 2008 and 2009, and was #97 in PCWorld’s list of the 100 Best Products of 2011.

  Foobar2000
Foobar 2000 is a freeware audio player for Windows developed by Peter Pawlowski, a former freelance contractor for Nullsoft.It is known for its highly modular design, breadth of features, and extensive user flexibility in configuration.The name foobar is derived from a common placeholder name used in computer programming.In September 2011, the developer of foobar2000 spun-off its codebase to create a simplified audio player called "Boom".

   You Tube browser
You tube is a video-sharing website, created by three former Paypal employees in February 2005, on which users can upload, view and share videos.The company is based in Sab Bruno, California, and uses Adobe Flash video and HTML5 technology to display a wide variety of user generated  video content.Most of the content on YouTube has been uploaded by individuals, although media corporations including  CBS, the BBC , Vevi Hulu, and other organizations offer some of their maerial via the site, as part of the You Tube partnership progaram.YouTube , LLC was bought by Google for US$1.65 billion, and operates as a subsidiary of Google.

10  Avant  
Avant Browser is a freeware web browser from a Chinese programmer named Anderson Che, which unites the Trident layout engine built into Windows with an interface intended to be more feature-rich , flexible and ergonomic than Microsoft's Internet Explorer.It runs on Windows 2000 and above, including Windows 7.As of November 2008, total downloads surpassed 22.5 million. Avant Browser is currently available in 41 languages.
