They are the most hated. The dirtier the dialogues, the more real they get and leave a lasting impression on the minds of the viewers. These are the bad guys of Bollywood. However brilliant he might be, the villain has to be beaten dead by the hero at the end.In this tentative list, I’ll try to list those actors who excelled in the role of villain from old movies to recent ones. Here's  the top 10 bollywood villains of all time we adore (or hate, we must say!) :-

1   Amjad Khan as Gabbar Singh

He is THE villain, who needs no introduction. Gabbar Singh captured everybody’s fancy right from the word go and the dialogues are still heard almost everywhere “kitne aadmi the?” “ab tera kya hoga kaalia”.

  Ajit as Lion

Ajit immortalized the suave villain with his individual style and characteristic accent in which he introduced himself “saara shahar mujhe lion ke name se jaanta hai”.

 Pran as Gajendra

The first official villain of the industry, whose mere presence on screen evoked anger among the general public going to the extent of abusing him. Definitely he did his job rather well. He stands out in public memory as the evil Gajendra from Ram and Shyam.

 Amrish Puri as Mogambo

Truly international baddie from bollywood. Straight out of a comic strip, he terrorizes and wants to be the king of the world. Hail Mogambo oops.. Hey Mogambo. I hope Mogambo Khush Hua!

 Gulshan Grover as Bad Man
What really makes Bad Man stands out is the fact that he is still the first name to flash in the mind in a movie full of a renowned baddie cast of Anupam Kher, Amrish Puri, Paresh Rawal and others.

  Kulbhushan Kharbanda as Shakaal

First techno villain replete with a shark tank, sliding doors with colorful panels, all gadgets and slick. Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s Shakaal scored high on cruelty in style.

  Anupam Kher as Dr Dang

Anupam Kher excelled with over the top villainy and dialogues like “is thappad ki goonj” only elevated the performance as the evil Dr Dang.

  Shah Rukh Khan

Many of you would never have thought of this name in this list but its true. Shah Rukh Khan began his career as a villain and his role as a psychopath lovestruck lover in the film Darr is one of his best performances till date. He is still recognised with famous "kkkk...kiran"

9.  Danny Denzongpa as Katya

Danny was so convincing in every scene and right from his costume to power packed dialogues, everything just scored.

10   Sanjay Dutt as Kancha

Dressed in a black outfit, Sanjay Dutt played Kancha in Agneepath, originally essayed by Danny Denzongpa, who wears a silver ring on top of his left ear and has tattoos engraved on his arms. His wicked smile, puffed-up eyes in the film did scare people. This is certainly  the most powerful villain of modern era.
"Indian film industry is 100 years old and there have been some of the great villanious perfomance over the years. Its not possible to include all of them in the list of top 10. Some of them who missed out in this list are :-

1. Ashutosh Rana in Dushman

and many more."
